Curiosity drives us.
It's why turning on the news is the first thing we do in the morning. And it's why we have experience across so many industries. It fuels lively debates in our office and inspires our creative thinking. And because we are curious, we are informed and engaged communicators who understand not only how to tell your story, but how to anchor it within the broader context of our community and our world.
What sets us apart?
It’s the strong business sense we bring to every project we undertake. We invest the time to understand not just our clients’ communications needs, but also their business needs. We combine that with a keen understanding of the marketplace and deep knowledge of the media landscape.

APR, MANAGING PARTNER
Gwen loves what she does, and it shows. Through a career spanning 15 years she has worked with clients large and small; public, private, and non-profit; on projects ranging from Agriculture subsidies to Zombie dating apps (and everything in between).
While the written word is central to her work, she believes strongly that an organization shapes its reputation foremost through its actions, then through its words. That is why her counsel can both help clients make good decisions and then tell people about them.
As a graduate of the University of Victoria’s school of Business, she approaches all projects seeking to generate not only communications results, but organizational ones as well.
Gwen works to find the ever-elusive balance between being a Managing Partner at Elettra and a Mum to Gavin (4) and Marina (2). When not at work you may find her on the family sailboat exploring the waters of the Salish Sea.
Gwen is a Trustee of the Vancouver Police Foundation, and is accredited by the Canadian Public Relations Society (APR).
Simone believes in the power of clear language and that, most often, the simplest ideas are the best ones.
Every organization has a story, but Simone says that it's how the story is told that sets an organization apart. Creative thinking and a sharp strategy that locates the client’s story within the context of our larger world are the hallmarks of Simone's work. It’s the context that makes the story relevant, that makes it “stick,” she says.
If you want to understand what is and isn’t working with your communications program, talk to Simone. She is expert at conducting investigative communications audits and using the insights to develop clear and focused communications strategies.
Simone is one part devoted urbanite (her favourite thing is the view of Gastown from her living room) and one part avid outdoorswoman (her other favourite thing is the view from the top of a mountain).
Simone is a graduate of Simon Fraser University and an active volunteer for a federal political party. Ever in pursuit of “context”, Simone begins and ends her days with the news.
ABOUT OUR NAME
People often ask us where the name "Elettra" comes from. Elettra was the name of the steam yacht that housed inventor Guglielmo Marconi’s private floating laboratory. Marconi, the Italian inventor known for his pioneering work on long-distance radio transmission, did much of his research from the Elettra. She played an essential role in getting messages across, which is exactly what Elettra Communications can do for you.
