Wrangling Up Fun at YVR’s Annual Employee Event
We recently had the opportunity to help produce Vancouver International Airport’s (YVR) annual employee event. This year’s theme, Air Fair, brought together more than 600 of the Airport Authority’s team members for an afternoon of connection, play, and appreciation at a nearby Sea Island hangar.
Inspired by carnival vibes, the celebration brought together DJ Bowe mixing country and pop, a BBQ-style menu catered by Lazy Gourmet, and plenty of interactive activities. Guests embraced Western wear flair with gingham, fringe, denim, boots, and cowboy hats. Highlights included arcade and fair games, a mechanical bull, the popular 360 video booth, and a Flying Donuts Contest with Lee’s Donuts, along with airbrush tattoos, and robot-drawn portraits.
In keeping with YVR’s commitment to inclusivity, a low sensory space was set inside a retro VW Westfalia camper van. Outfitted with dimmed lighting, noise-cancelling headphones, and colouring pages, the lounge offered a quiet retreat for guests to recharge before rejoining the festivities.
More than just a party, Air Fair was a celebration of the people who make YVR an extraordinary place to work. From the high-energy games and activations to the quiet moments of connection, Air Fair celebrated the people who make YVR extraordinary and highlighted their core value of teamwork.
