Elettra's new Account Manager

Cassandra Parsons_ElettraA hearty congratulations to Cassandra Parsons, who has been recently promoted to Account Manager at Elettra. Cassandra officially joined Elettra in August 2012 as Account Executive (with previous stints as an intern in 2010). The promotion recognizes Cassandra's hard work and stellar achievement in media relations and event production over the past year.

Our new home & the meaning of Elettra

510 West HastingsElettra Communications moved house a few weeks ago, and we're getting quite comfortable in our new surroundings. We've relocated just one block west and one block north to the Standard Building at 510 West Hastings. If you've ever looked for an office space in downtown Vancouver, you'll know how challenging it can be to find a spot with character. For Elettra, having an inspiring place to come to every morning and lovely surroundings to welcome our clients to is an important part of doing business.

We really lucked out with our new home in the beautiful Standard Building, which dates back to 1916 (photo of the lobby at right). Changing Vancouver has a great post on the history of our building and our corner at Hastings & Richards.

Though we do a lot of thinking about the future, Elettra Communications has always had a connection with the past. Our name, Elettra, comes directly from communications history.  The pioneer of the radio, Guglielmo Marconi, had a floating laboratory, a ship he called The Elettra. From The Elettra, Marconi conducted the experiments that would forever change how the world communicates.

From the window of our new office we look out at the Dominion Building, Sun Tower, and the Woodwards buildings - all of which are architectural icons that represent Vancouver's past and present.  We feel really lucky to be here - connected to the past and working on the future.

We're looking forward to welcoming our clients, suppliers, and friends to our new office. Do drop by for a visit!

VANCOUVER BC (June 21, 2013) – De Dutch, a beloved Canadian restaurant chain with 23 locations across Western Canada, is celebrating Canada Day with Front Row at the Fireworks, a fundraising initiative benefitting the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s BC Yukon Chapter.

Through their website dedutch.com/bestseats, nine waterfront tables at De Dutch’s Burrard Landing location at the Vancouver Convention Centre will be auctioned off with the starting bids at $200 for a table of two or $400 for a table of four. Winning bidders will enjoy the best seats for the annual Canada Day Burrard Inlet Fireworks from 9 pm to 11 pm, with a $20 food and beverage voucher from De Dutch included in the bid price.

The fireworks show will take place on the evening of July 1st, 2013, with an estimated 250,000 Canadians expected to attend the Burrard Landing festivities. “Our Burrard Landing location offers our guests an incredible view to enjoy breakfast, brunch, and lunch,” says De Dutch President Bill Waring. “The Canada Day fireworks show happening in the inlet right in front of us allows us to use our unique location to support both a community event and an important cause.”
